Firelight - Since 1993, we have conducted a two-week summer enrichment program in July for community children. The children, in grades K-5, spend each morning learning Bible stories, practicinig life skills (such as cooking, group dynamics, reading, and arts and crafts), and simply having fun at our church. Breakfast and lunch are served. Volunteers pick up and return the children to their homes.
For the past 30 years we have held our annual bazaar benefitting local charites. It is a day filled with fun, food, fellowhsip, and music. From flea market treasures to items made by artisans from all over the world, there is no shortage fo interesting and unique items for shoppers. Enjoy a fabulous lunch featuing our famous barbeque while church members and guests play music.
There is something for everyone at the Bazaar!
The Kennett Community Garden is located on six acres at the corner of Vandeventer and Commercial Streets. The Garden was established in 2012 by a broad-based, grassroots coalition of churches, civic groups, schools, businesses, local gardening experts and other dedicated private citizens, all focused on one goal: Providing healthy food and nutritional crop awareness throughout the community.
Just east of the PAC is a basketball court open to all. Players often drop in on Wednesday evenings to eat with us.
